Biochar making demonstrations, informal talks on medicinal and mycorrhizal fungi and the combination with biochar for soil restoration.
Furnace Brook CIC is an oasis in the Sussex High Weald National Landscape. Based at a beautiful 80 acre site, we operate as a rural arts, ecology & micro enterprise hub, shaping the land & lakes management in response to the climate & ecological crisis, while promoting a re-connection with nature. Furnace Brook CIC works in cooperation with the
United Nations Association ‘Generation Restoration’ programme. “Our priority is to protect & enhance the biodiversity & natural beauty here & to contribute to partnerships focused on modelling practical grass roots responses to the climate and ecological emergency.”
“My main interests as a mycologist are learning about medicinal & edible species, the Physical & mental benefits of fungi, studying the complex & far reaching connections & relationships between the world of fungi, the natural environment & us! As we are in peril of forgetting our place in nature".
Making our own biochar onsite as part of a holistic system of management, we combine it with microbial composts, Woodchip & mycorrhizal sporulate infusions, creating a powerful soil remediation solution which significantly enhances plant growth. Using fungi's ability to neutralise pollution & symbiotically benefit organisms for increased soil biodiversity & carbon sequestration.
