A Walk in the Wild Larder

With almost 30 years' of foraging experience under his belt, Rob has a wealth of knowledge and a passion for the outdoors that goes far beyond what is simply edible. After many years of working alongside some truly outstanding and inventive chefs, brewers, distillers, fermenters and scientists, he has developed a vast repertoire of ways to work with nature's ingredients. Whether you're a home cook looking to preserve your wild harvest; a professional chef wanting to use the flavour profiles of foraged ingredients in your kitchen; or a brewer wanting to incorporate wild flavours into your creations; Rob will be able to help you develop something to showcase these wild treasures. In addition to learning from Rob's wealth of knowledge about culinary uses, you'll also be getting to know more about the natural history of the landscapes you love and work amongst, and also some of the folklore relating to many of our edible wild species. Rob tailors all of his walks to his audience and adopts a highly engaging approach, meaning that he alters the balance of culinary, natural history and folklore information shared as his audience interacts on the day. Rob's events are well-planned but nonetheless spontaneous and so it should go without saying that no two walks with Rob are the same, both due to the constantly revolving seasons and our ever changing landscapes.
