Jem Purry

Jem is 17 years old, he lives on a narrow boat and has grown up surrounded by nature. He has had a keen interest in fungi and plants since he was very small.  Jem has developed his skills in fungi identification and this year has worked with other mycologists to complete the microscopy work, identifying a newly discovered species of fungi in the UK. He enjoys  preparing tasty foraged feasts and is also interested in the medicinal properties of fungi, having completed levels one and two of The Medicinal Mushrooms Practitioners Course. He loves to draw and paint fungi and plants. Jem is becoming a great teacher and going on a walk with him is never dull as he imparts his exceptional knowledge of the outdoors.
