Slime Moulds: Past, Present and Future

Barry Webb has photographed the macro world, and Fungi in particular, for many years. He now specialises in photographing the unseen world of slime mould. Most of the slime mould he photographs are only between 1-4mm tall.

Barry’s images have won numerous international awards and been exhibited globally.

His slime mould finds are contributing to county and national records.

At the All Things Fungi Festival Barry and Jackie Mackenzie-Dodds will present the history of slime moulds and curation culture, focusing on the original ‘Queen of Slime Moulds’, Gulielma Lister, and show some of Gulielma Lister’s exquisite artworks from over a hundred years ago, species-matched with Barry’s up to date photographs.

Barry will be showing a selection of ‘slime-lapses’ and some previously unseen
images.

Barry and Jackie will also be leading a slime mould walk. You’ll find out where to find them, how to identify them and get tips on how to photograph these
wonderful organisms. If you have a x10 hand lens, please bring it along.
