Chaga - The Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Ecology, Indigenous Usage and Applications
Muji has trained as a Pharmacist (MPharm) in the UK, Medical Herbalist in the US and obtained an MSc in Forest Ecology and Sustainable Forest Management from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, completing his thesis on the topic of in vitro cultivation of Chaga, (Inonotus obliquus) https://stud.epsilon.slu.se/18681/
He worked for the Forestry Commission in the UK, improving tree and woodland health and resilience in the UK, and advising farmers and foresters on how to improve the health of the UK landscapes.
Other than forestry, he has planted up and managed organic vegetable gardens, medicinal herb gardens and agroforestry sites around the world. He has conducted mycology research with world-leading researchers at SLU in Sweden and most recently is the lead consultant for Forest Medicine,;a company focusing on the intersection of forest health and human health. He is the creator of Forest Kola, an adaptogenic stimulant tonic drink containing medicinal fungi and plants which have a sound traditional and medical evidence base behind their usage.
Muji completed his BSc and MSc in Pharmacy (MPharm) at the University of Bath, UK.
He attained his MSc in Forest Ecology and Sustainable Management from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Umeå and Alnarp, Sweden.
He is currently an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (AICFor), a member of the Royal Forestry Society (RFS), the British Ecological Society (BES) and the British Mycological Society (BMS).
