Focusing on abstract organic and simply structured designs, with and without gemstones to highlight and accentuate anyone’s fashion.
I love melting silver and moulding it to suit my ideas. A lot of inspiration comes from nature and wildlife, with repetitive patterns and swirls. Especially water with its drops, splashes and waves.
As a child I collected sparkly rocks (to my family's annoyance) and found I had a nickel allergy in my early teens (to my annoyance). Both of these caused me to pursue making my own jewellery. Particularly with beads and wire initially. This gradually developed into where I am today. Joining evening/weekend classes on specific topics, as I could afford to do them, was crucial and I look forward to continually learning more every day about how to shape and influence designs and patterns to suit my visions. In particular allowing the stone and natural materials I work with to shine through to their best. My main gemstone interest lies in Turquoise and Australian Opals, although I do work with other gemstones aswell, depending on the design or person its for. Due to falling in love with the way silver enhances everyone’s subtle strengths, instead of outshining them, this is where my main metal focus lies. If gold is desired, then this can be discussed further as a commission. Am happy to take on custom commissions and always have an assortment of special stones just waiting to find the right person to find their home.
