The Female Forager

Alexandra, known in the field as The Female Forager, is a biologist and ethnomycologist specialising in medicinal fungi. Drawing on experience with two of the UK’s leading medicinal mushroom organisations, she combines scientific research with practical fieldwork to investigate the therapeutic potential of fungi. She has led workshops and guided mushroom forays across the UK and Europe, sharing her expertise with diverse audiences including physicians and mental health professionals who are interested in the medicinal applications of fungi. Committed to deepening connections with nature’s edible and medicinal resources, Alexandra partners with the Psychedelic Society to lead foraging excursions and educational workshops, teaching participants how to accurately identify medicinal mushrooms and understand their ecological functions and biochemical properties.
