David Satori

David Satori has spent his career trying to understand fungi from every perspective possible to move them from the margins of ecology to the centre of rewilding. He is a PhD researcher based at Kew Gardens and Imperial College London studying the ecology of mycorrhizal fungi in Britain’s temperate rainforests, and what it means for their conservation.

For nearly a decade, he has been fascinated by one idea: that the underground fungal world governs much of the ecology we see aboveground, but it remains one of the least understood aspects of our natural world.
