The youngest Myco Author Eban Grant did a book signing! After finding a few mushrooms in his local woods and taking photos he began cataloguing and learning about fungi, which led to his first book ‘Eben’s Book of Bampton Mushrooms’. Printed in lockdown, when he was 6, Eben sold copies with all profits going to Devon Wildlife Trust, he made a whopping £2000 for charity!
Jem is 15 years old and lives on a narrow boat in rural Wiltshire. He has grown up surrounded by nature. Since Jem could talk he has pointed at mushrooms and plants asked “what’s that one?” Jems’ inquisitive nature has led him to become quite the young mycologist (and botanist). As well as foraging for tasty fungi Jem also has a keen interest in the medicinal properties of mushrooms and is currently studying on a medicinal mushroom practitioners course. Jem also enjoys drawing fungi and plants using his homemade iron gall and nettle inks and quills.’
